Suffer Thee a Kobold

Prologue: The New Neighbors

Investigate the surrounding areas

The allwatcher called together a group to go investigate a trail of smoke coming from the forest of wyrms to the west of the lair. En route, they discovered a strange creature caught in a meagerly prepared wild game trap. They realized too late that it was a baby moose moments before a much larger moose came crashing through the underbrush. Some quick thinking left it immobilized and easily overcome once it was unable to stomp everyone underfoot.

After dispatching the moose, they butchered it and some stuffed their pockets and packs with moose meat before continuing on their way. Eventually, they reached the source of the smoke trail, which turned out to be a woodsman’s cottage. When they arrived hovever, the scent of all the meat they were carrying attracted a pack of wolves which attacked. The commotion outside the cottage attracted the attention of the inhabitants, who came into the fray looking somewhat bewildered. Through crude pantomime, the kobolds managed to convince the woodsmen they were no threat (or at least that the wolves were the greater threat). With the humans’ help, the wolves were dispatched or driven off. After an awkward and somewhat unintelligible exchange, the kobolds, their investigation complete, scampered off back into the woods.

They returned to the baby moose in the trap, figuring the trap belonged to the human woodsmen. They constructed a sledge and hooked the baby moose up to it to drag the rest of the carcass of the larger moose back to the tribe. Before leaving, as a sign of goodwill, the kobolds reset the trap in a much better manner than the woodsmen themselves likely could have done.

Hold on now! No one told me you played yesterday. Or WAS playing yesterday. I probably could have made it. Hurmpf!

Prologue: The New Neighbors

That wasn’t yesterday. He just started the OP yesterday. That was the first-ever Suffer Thee a Kobold adventure that happened over a year ago. :)
